3D Photography Presentation – Andrew J. Russell and the Westward Expansion

April 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

The Internet Archive is excited to host The Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society as they share their exhibition of rare and restored transcontinental railroad 3-D stereo views.

Union Pacific Railroad and Civil War photographer Andrew J. Russell captured hundreds of rare and beautiful stereo (3-D) photographs of the American West. The Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society presents selections of his remarkable work, based on high-resolution glass plate scans curated by the Oakland Museum of California and restored by our members for exhibition.

This projected 3-D slideshow (polarized glasses are provided) is free.

The mission of the Golden Gate Stereoscopic Society is to encourage and promote the art of stereo photography through the support of our community and outreach to the public.
